Our Farmyard Activities

Children will love spending time with and feeding our variety of farm animals, which give the farm an authentic ‘farmyard’ feel.

Milking

Lambs

Swimming

Our scenic dams are ideal for swimming, black bass fishing and boating.  A canoe and boat are available for paddling on the dam.

Bass Fishing

We do have black bass in our dam and do allow guests to catch and release.

Hiking

The mountain range behind the campsite is ideal for short hikes. A scenic 40 to 45 minute trail up the mountain range leads one to a beautiful waterfall, with a deep rock pool below, fittingly named ‘God’s bathtub’.

Wildlife

There is an abundance of wildlife on Petervale, including buck, many birds and black bass in the dam. There are also many good bird watching opportunities.

Mountain biking

The terrain is also ideal for mountain biking, so if this is your thrill, be sure to bring your bike!

We absolutely LOVED Petervale and the serenity of the place and hope to come back in summer to make the most of the wonderful surrounds and all that Petervale has to offer. It was incredibly special for us to spend Easter in such a tranquil place. And I think what we will take away as one of the best memories of the weekend, was that we witnessed the birth of the piglets and got to milk the cow. Those were awesome experiences and will definitely stay with me for a long time. Theresa Green
Our recent stay with our four kids were absolutely fantastic! Anyone looking for a real break away will enjoy the natural setting, and the peace that the farm has to offer. We loved the camping sites in the forest and off course the walk to the waterfall was well worth the effort. Wish we could have stayed longer, but will definitely return to try once again to catch those wily fish in the dam! Well done and keep your treasure as natural as it is. And off course the apple juice is heavenly Thank you so much for an awesome weekend. You really do have a beautiful farm and your love for it shines through. Will definitely be coming back again soon. Was our friends first camping experience and I think the bar has been set very high!! I was looking for a place to take my 7 year old girl camping as it is just dad and his little girl.. Well we definitely found the place and what an awesome couple of days we had. I found the shaded campsites perfect, the dam warm to swim in and all i can say about Reuben and Tobias – you guys are legends in my eyes for your hospitality and always willing to help. The animals are a bonus and the farm dogs the friendliest i have come across.. will be back there soon and with friends this time.. thanks again.. Dean & Rayne
Many thanks for a wonderful weekend on your farm. The campsite is in a stunning setting and the services you provide are tip-top – the personal attention you pay to ensuring that everything is clean and “running” means that your guests really feel part of your farm “family”. This was our first time camping and was such a positive experience, that we will definitely be back !!! Wishing you and your brother many happy campers this year !!!!! Theresa and Ian Peddie
This is hands down the best campsite we’ve been to so far and could’ve happily stayed longer than the 11 nights we were there. Reuben and Tobias – you guys have managed to hit the nail on the head in terms of a well serviced campsite – we so appreciated the way you were great hosts but never intrusive. Petervale really is a very special little farm and Caleb (4 1/2) was in his element. And we loved our site- thank you! We’re sure to be back. Karen and Michael Parker
I recently stayed on the Farm with my family, and for the first time in years, we all agree... this has hands down been the best holiday in years. The cottages are beautiful, the surrounding breath taking, the dam refreshing...the hiking trails and and and... We all can’t wait to come back...thank you reuben and team. Parkers & Kensington
Hi there Reuben, from the Honeymooners! thanks for an absolutely stunning time. Eugene Mesias and I had an absolute blissful time! We enjoyed the rugged camp living with no electricity, they way camping should be. The awesome night sky made it so much more romantic with our private camp fire...amazing...definately made some awesome memories! We planning on a return visit to check out the cottage living! Good luck for the rest of the season! much love. Anthea Mesias
