General:

Do you need a 4×4 to access Petervale? No

Do we have a manned reception? No, Please contact us by Whatsapp or phone and we will meet you at reception.

Is there cell phone reception at Petervale? Yes we have good cell phone reception all over the farm.

Is Petervale’s water drinkable? Yes, we have very good quality drinking water from all our taps.

Do we sell wood and ice on the farm? Yes, we do sell wood and ice at reception and on the farmyard after animal feeding.  Please however Whatsapp or phone us before coming to reception.

Can one drive to the waterfall? No, it is a 1.5km hike from our campsite.

Do Petervale have a locked gate?  Yes, but you can access the farm with the code provided in our check in email 24 hours a day.

Are the kayaks at our dam for the use of all our guests free of charge?  Yes, refer to list of water craft owned by Petervale in the check in email.

Are there custom built mountain bike tracks on the farm? No, guests are however welcome to ride around the farm on our farm tracks. Alternativity there are custom built track at Eselfontein www.eselfontein.co.za/track-and-routes

Can guest bring their own scramblers or quadbikes to be used on the farm? No this is not permitted.

Can guest bring their own watercraft to be used on the dam? Yes, guests are welcome to bring their own kayaks, stand up paddle boards and electric rubber ducks.

Can you catch and eat our fish? No, we only allow catch and release.

Can guests swim in our dam? Yes, At your own risk- Children to be supervised at all times.

Campsite related:

Do we allow music at our campsite? Absolutely not . This includes any kind of noise from a cellphone.

Are there taps at all our campsites? No, each of our campsites do not have its own tap.

Do our campsites have braai areas with braai grids? Each of our campsites have a simple stone area on the ground where a fire can be made. You will however need to bring a braai grid.

Are our campsites grassed? No

Is there wifi at our campsite? No. There is however good cell phone reception all over the farm.

Do our campsites have electricity? No. There is however a power point and plug point at our wash up area for the use of our guests.  You are welcome to plug your camping fridge in at the wash up area.

Do our campsites have shade? Yes, all our campsites do have some shade.

Cottage related:

Do all Petervale’s cottages have their own wood fired hot tub? Yes

Do the cottages have wifi? No, there is however good cell phone reception all over the farm.

Do the cottages have electricity? Yes, 80% of our power comes from our solar system.

Do our cottages have aircon? No, We do however have good insulation in our cottages so if opened in the early morning and closed again when the day warms up they do stay cool inside. All our cottage also have fans.

Do our cottages have indoor fireplaces? Yes

Are our kitchens fully equipped? Yes

Do our cottages have built in braai’s?  No each cottage has a free standing braai outside.

Do we supply wood for hot tubs/indoor fireplaces?  No, but you can buy wood at reception or Hamlet or Ceres.
